It often surprises people that I find asset management exciting. While it’s not usually considered the most compelling aspect of civil engineering, I enjoy the challenge of connecting what appear to be scattered pieces of data to create clear roadmaps for delivering essential municipal services. My passion is crafting plans that not only maintain infrastructure through effective renewal budgets, but that also bridge the communication gap that can exist between technical and finance teams.
As my career has progressed, so has my connection to the natural environment. While managing small to medium-sized drinking water and wastewater systems, I witnessed firsthand the growing challenges of climate change. It is clear that traditional approaches are no longer enough—engineers must adopt a more holistic perspective on infrastructure projects, one that prioritizes sustainability and resilience alongside functionality.
For me, integrating asset management with sustainability isn’t just a professional goal—it’s a natural evolution. I am committed to delivering reliable, affordable municipal services today, but also ensuring our decisions will allow future generations to thrive. With the tools and strategies at our disposal, I’m eager to share this passion for sustainable infrastructure with my clients, helping them confront today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow.

Amethyst is a symbol of clarity, balance, and insight—qualities that resonate deeply with the work we do at AIM. As this generation navigates the complexities of building a sustainable future, balanced perspectives are essential for ensuring long-term needs are considered as we tackle today's infrastructure challenges.
Though my personal connection to amethyst began long before I understood its symbolic meaning, over time it has grown into more than just a keepsake I received as gifts. As amethyst now reflects the clarity I strive to bring to my work, it is fitting that it also represents the guiding principles behind AIM.

Having worked in the municipal sector, I understand the struggle to do more with less. Municipal staff are racing to keep up with ever-changing regulations, all while being closely scrutinized in social media. There is pressure to respond to declarations of Climate Emergencies and push forward with projects to support new housing, yet municipalities are already stretched thin, trying to secure the staffing and funding needed to keep essential services running smoothly.
This is where Amethyst Infrastructure Management (AIM) was born. Inspired by a desire to help municipalities navigate these complex challenges, AIM draws on our first-hand municipal experience and passion for sustainable infrastructure. With our understanding of the intricacies of municipal processes, AIM can seamlessly integrate with teams to deliver successful programs and strategic initiatives. Our goal is to leverage this expertise to help clients get ahead of the curve.
Innovation and collaboration will be key to thriving in this rapidly shifting landscape, and we are excited to share our knowledge and experience to help build resilient communities.
